About Job Description
Tata Motors Design is seeking skilled Clay Modellers to join its global design team working across India, the UK, and Italy. This role focuses on transforming 2D design intent into precise 3D clay models, contributing to the development of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and electric mobility solutions.
You will work closely with designers to refine surfaces, control highlights, and bring concepts to life physically, ensuring design intent is accurately translated into production-ready forms.
Key Responsibilities
Sculpt and refine clay models from sketches, sections, and CAD data
Translate design intent into high-quality physical surfaces
Collaborate with designers to develop and finalize form language
Maintain surface symmetry, highlights, and precision
Use digitizing tools and support data integration
Ensure studio tools, processes, and safety standards are maintained
Profile
3–10 years of experience in automotive clay modeling
Strong understanding of surface development and proportions
Skilled with clay tools, tapes, Di-Noc films, and prototyping materials
Basic knowledge of milling and model development workflows
Background in design or professional clay modeling training
